Wise Friends are Good Coaches! (Be encouraged to post a comment and join the conversation!)

Here are some great words of wisdom for the day—–Proverbs 12:15—-“The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice.”

A friend and I were standing outside the church looking at possible sources of some water issues.   He showed me a sink hole that was developing.  We looked at it and he made mention of it twice.

A few minutes later we started to walk on and I stepped right into that sinkhole and nearly injured myself.

I’ve done that before in life, have you?  A friend cared enough to warn me about something and I didn’t pay attention and stepped into the hole or fell in the pits anyways.

A good friend can help us be aware of sinkholes and potholes in the road the things to avoid.  “Watch your step.”   “If you go that direction there could be danger ahead.”   “That may not be the best choice.”  “That person might be the best friend to have in your life.”  It’s smart to listen to the advice of wise friends.

Proverbs 13:10 says, “….wisdom is found in those who take advice.”

Proverbs 19:20 is a great encouragement……“Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise.”

So, if you need to receive counsel today or have the opportunity to give it, be encouraged to encourage, “Watch out for that sinkhole!”

    Hi Steve & Kristi,
So good to hear from you and read this great article on encouragement. “Be encouraged to encourage.” A good lesson to learn and
use. Hope all is going well with you both.
Jan & I have made Mt our permanent place of residence. A long time coming. That long trip back and forth to Fl got the best of us.
Now we’re here for our daughter and grandkids for the whole year.
Maybe we’ll see you in MT? If not we always think of you and the good times we had together.
