The copy machine repairman was working on the office copier a few weeks ago. I told him how I admired people with the skill to work on such a complicated machine, with all the wires and computer boards and intricate complexities under the hood. He said something about how my job is even harder–working with people who are even more complex.
It was so fun to be able to comment how great our church is with creating a safe place for people to expose their wiring and get recharged and sometimes rewired. I count it a high privilege to be able to pray for people and see God repair brokenness and do the rewiring and recharging of the heart. He is good at it. Really good.
The repairman was back last week to work on the machine again, because we were getting spots on our copies. He launched right into a conversation about how good God is at taking care of our spots and wrinkles. He was having a hard time locating the source of the smears coming out of the machine, but all God needs is a willing heart ready to submit to His expert hands. God is good at removing stains.
I am looking forward to our next conversation, wondering what that might be.
“That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.” (2 Cor. 4:16)
o What is God working on under your hood?
o What spots in your heart is God identifying for you to work on?
o What wires need repaired? Where do you need a recharge, restart, or refreshing?
o Does God want you to help a friend in need of repair?
