New Year’s Eve this year included a great adventure to the rifle range to do some target shooting with a friend. It was fun. I enjoy zeroing in on a target. In life too, especially with the start of a new year full of new adventures ahead and greater things to aim at.
My target is Joshua 1:8 for ’18. The bulls eye on my target for 2018 is colored with these words, “Study this book of instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.”
I want to aim the eyes of my heart on THE Book. I want to be a man of the Book, a guy who ponders the truth of the Bible. More than just target practice at the range, I desire to practice aiming at things that flow from His Word. I want to be hungry and thirsty for more of Jesus, the true target beyond the paper. With every choice and every decision I want to insure that I Book it according to His flight plan, trusting Him as the pilot of the journey ahead (John 14:6).
What are you aiming at?
