I am overwhelmed with gratitude today. My heart is thankful.
I was reading Ephesians 5 this morning, and came upon that popular verse, v18, “Be Filled with the Spirit.”
Before that, v15, speaks of wisdom. “Be careful how you live, don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise.” The Spirit filled life helps us to experience knowledge applied, wisdom, and empowers us to see God’s perspective, which is wisdom.
I am thinking about the wisdom of gratitude. Because the end of the paragraph, in Ephesians 5:20 it says, “And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
So, it is wise to be thankful.
I am thankful to God for the amazing God He is. I am thankful for my wife who is such a blessing and a great friend and partner in ministry. I am thankful for our sons and their gals. Family is fuel for a grateful heart. I am thankful for a church family that gives faithfully and serves and works so hard. I am thankful for a staff and leadership teams that are working together with such a sense of unity.
There is a neverending supply of things that I can be grateful for today.
And I am thankful for friends, for you. Thank you for being you….and even more, thank you for being who you are in your relationship with Christ. And thank you for pursuing and embracing the Spirit-filled life, a life that includes the wisdom of gratitude.
