“He made the curtain of blue, purple and crimson yarn and fine linen, with cherubim worked into it.” (2 Chron. 3:14)
The sky has been so refreshingly blue the past few days, like a glorious backdrop inviting us to look UP. The blue sky provides a stage for the sun, whose warming rays declare God’s glory.
Blue is one of the three primary colors of light. During Bible times, material was dyed blue for tabernacle tapestries, for hangings in the temple, and for clothing worn by royalty and the rich.
Maybe blue is considered a royal, rich color because the heavens declare the glory of God (Psalm 19) and the skies proclaim the marvelous work of His hands. The blue above shouts of the covering and the blessing of the almighty, royal Creator.
When I look up, things are looking up. To look up is to gain access to God’s perspective. To look up is wisdom. Looking up is the way to soar above the circumstances.
Someone said that sorrow looks back, worry looks around, but faith looks up. Enjoy the blue sky and the sun which makes its circuit across it, the glory of God displayed!
