“And over the golden altar they shall spread a cloth of blue and cover it with a covering of goatskin, and shall put in its poles.” (Numbers 4:11)
A golden altar draped with a cloth of blue. Today I have enjoyed a place of prayer adorned with a sky of blue. Looking out the window, the clear blue sky is drawing my eyes upward. My thoughts and prayers have been with upward glances that have lifted my heart in praise.
We have a small back yard with an enclosing fence that limits what you can do. But when looking up, well, the sky is the limit.
By the way did you know that a buzzard can be imprisoned by putting a short fence around it? The bird has to get a running start in order to fly, so even a small fence can make it a captive.
I am thinking we don’t even need a running start if we are looking up in prayer. Whatever fences tend to keep us from flying, the answer is always to look up. It is the uplook that determines our outlook.
So I think I will pray a little more.
